Meal Delivery
Our delivery volunteers must have their own transportation, participate in a driver orientation program, and must be physically able to lift a small meal carrier. Each volunteer is assigned to a specific route, and they pick up meals from neighborhood sites, local churches and businesses. They have a delivery window of 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. All volunteers create their own schedule to ensure their meals are delivered within that timeline. Some volunteers deliver once a week, and others deliver as often as daily.
Kitchen Helper
Assist with meal packaging, prep work, dishwashing and cleaning.
Route Coordinator
Oversee the daily activities of each route. They troubleshoot any route vacancies or no shows and help with mapping new routes.
Clerical Assistant/General Office Worker
Meals on Wheels has a variety of tasks available to include: filing, data entry, collating, bulk mailings, phone assistance and client relations.
Microsoft Office & PC Skilled Helper
We are in need of individuals who are able to navigate through Microsoft platforms, create spreadsheets, and learn mailing list software applications. Our Marketing Department uses volunteer photographers and graphic designers to help with publications.
Mother’s Day Volunteer
On Mother’s Day, Meals on Wheels are delivered to our recipients solely by volunteers. The volunteers come to our facility, pick up 4 to 7 meals along with flowers and hand-made cards for delivery within the community. Families, civic organizations and youth related groups are also encouraged to participate.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to do hands-on packaging of meals, cleaning and interacting with other volunteers. We also need volunteers to help organize and participate in distributing meals and other gift items to the volunteer drivers as they arrive.
Thanksgiving Volunteer
On Thanksgiving Day, Meals on Wheels are delivered to our recipients solely by volunteers. The volunteers come to our facility, pick up 4 to 7 meals, cards and flowers for delivery within the community. Families, civic organizations and youth related groups are also encouraged to participate.
Many volunteers prepare and package the Thanksgiving Meal at our facility. These participants will have the opportunity to do hands-on packaging of meals, cleaning and interacting with other volunteers.
Volunteers also help organize and participate in distributing meals and other gift items to the volunteer drivers as they arrive.
Fundraising Events
We conduct several Fundraising Events throughout the year. In order to promote and operate those events, we need Phone Bank Volunteers, Planning Committee Volunteers, Event Coordinators, and General Helpers.
Special Projects
We have a variety of needs at the agency: painting, mailouts, stuffing envelopes, gardening, truck maintenance, washing trucks, gathering item donations, volunteer/health fairs and hosting United Way talks and tours.

RN or LVN – Volunteer Nurses
We welcome the contribution of volunteer health care professionals in our centers. They are able to provide quality care and insight to the caregivers into any possible developing health issues of our clients.
Caring, Nurturing Volunteers for Crafts & Activities
If you love brightening the day of seniors by conducting sing-a-longs, helping with jigsaw puzzles, creating and supervising craft projects – we can use you.
Library Assistant
We maintain a library with reference materials for our caregivers. We could use the help of a volunteer to organize and stock these materials.
Internet Researcher
Considering the vast amount of information now available on the web, Grace Place would appreciate volunteers who can research Caregiver Solutions and Alzheimer’s Information for our library.
Volunteer Speakers
We provide many speakers for our caregivers in order to keep them informed on a variety of topics: Latest Break Through Medicines and Treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease, Caregiver Solutions, Advanced Directives, Medical & Durable Power of Attorney, Living and Estate Wills, and any pertinent subject matter.
We need attorneys, medical professionals, motivational speakers, and individuals who have information to improve caregiver awareness.
Hair Dressers/Cosmetologists

Senior Companion
If you are an individual 60 years old or older, low income, with time on your hands and a willingness to help other older adults, you may be interested in becoming a Senior Companion. As a Senior Companion, you will receive on-going training, support and a tax-free stipend for the hours you serve.
Telephone Reassurance Companion
Volunteers are needed to call isolated, lonely seniors who may live in areas where a Companion is not found to provide them with a one-to-one contact. Volunteers will contact seniors on a daily basis to cheer the seniors, or connect them with community resources.
Clerical Assistant
Volunteers are always needed at the SCP office to help with phone calls, follow-up, filing, and data entry. This can be a short term or long term opportunity.
Special Projects Helper
During the month of June each year, the Senior Companion Program recognizes the Volunteers who have provided the frail, isolated elderly with countless hours of companionship. Help is needed in coordinating the event, decorating tables, serving meals and helping to promote the event. Each year SCP also sponsors "Adopt a Senior" when the business community contributes gifts to be given to the Companions. Volunteers are needed to sort gifts, label items, coordinate the Christmas party, decorate the meeting area, serve meals and help promote the event.
